The Swap Art website that we will launch will allow swapping for all types of arts. This way you will be able to swap a painting with a pair of nice earrings, your handmade journal with a hand knitted scarf, or with a small sculpture, etc. Or why not your paintings with some other paintings from your favorite artists. It’s a nice way to collect original art work, to meet people who have the same hobby as you do and to have fun :)
Because the platform for Swap Art is not yet ready, we decided to organize a couple of swaps on different themes till then. Once the Swap Art is done, you will be able to swap when you want with who you want (items related to art of course, including books, DVDs). Until then, for fun, let’s do a random swap, similar to our test run on paint my photo, which we organised in March. Members there were very exited and enjoyed the experience immensely
In March we organised a swap art with the painters from paintmyphoto.ning.com. It has been a very interesting experience, specially seeing the members so excited.
Now is time for some Craft Swaps :) If you like crafts feel free to join this swap.
Here is what you have to do:
- Create your craft – something nice and not too big nor heavy, which represents you. Why not so big and heavy? Because this swap will be international, and you should be aware of the delivery costs.
- Your craft can be anything that means hand-made: jewelry, knitted or sewn things, crochets, paper-crafts.. anything made by hand :)
- Take some pictures and fill in the form below – the submitions start on 11.05.11 and will last 4 weeks till 8.06.11
- Include some information about you and your craft: your name, e-mail, your country, the name of your craft and a short description of it
On 10.06.11 we will show you the random list of participants. This way you’ll know who you will be swapping with. Then you’ll have to contact him/her to swap your address and send your craft.

[...] The photo above is a handmade journal created by Jullia herself, and she is putting it up for grabs in a lovely handmade swap program. What’s different from other swaps online, is that you get to choose your favorite object from the offer and swap it with yours. The registration closes in 20 days, time in which you have to create your object and register it in the swap. [...]

how often do you do swaps? I just joined today and can’t wait.
Hi Jodi! We made 2 random swaps till now (one for painters and one for handicrafts) but we would like to finish as soon as possible the swap-art platform, so things can be easier: swap when you want with who you want and what you want. Unfortunately we still have to work on the website, things are more complex than we thought. Subscribe to our newsletter (on http://swap-art.com/) and we’ll keep you updated ;)
