March has been the swapsies month on paintmyphoto.ning.com. In collaboration with Roy Simmons, the creator of PainMyPhoto website, we tried to organize a swap art with the artists from here. Everything was more than fun, and has evolved better than we expected.

The “after swap” reactions:
I have received the watercolor of the Blue Tit from Maureen Crofts just a few minutes ago and it’s gorgeous in person. I know the photos of the art just don’t do them justice most of the time. Thanks again, Maureen! (by Nother Jan)
I received my painting from PaperTree today in the mail. It is truly WONDERFUL!!! The photo didn’t do it justice and I am so pleased to have it – now to look for a frame!!! (Linda Franklin)
I have received mine from Robyn! I love it, wonderful color saturation and tone contrasts, much better in ‘real life’. Thanks Ro ! (by Roy Simmons)
Well it gives me great pleasure to announce that… OUR GIRL HAS FOUND HOME! Thank you JULIA for a truly beautiful portrait! My swapsie(MELANCHOLY ~ by Julia) arrived today in the mail and she is most stunning!!!!!!! Julia, beautiful beautiful silverpoint portrait! THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!
I am so excited that i immediately have had her museum float framed and she now proudly sits on my desk with me in front of my computer. I have uploaded pics to see.
Thanks Julia and thanks to my art and photography family! (by Shawn)
What a pleasure to see the postman today with Val’s painting, all the way from Scotland, and it is so nice, a wonderful watercolour on my wall. Many, many thanks to Val for this painting. I will have it framed and it will hang on my loungeroom wall, opposite the chair I sit in. (by Helen Vanderwoude)
Yay….I was the lucky girl who got Sharons boots. Framed and hung pride of place. Well done PMP…..job done! (by Bix)
My painting from Valerie just arrived and I am so pleased. It is really nice to have the original in your hand. It brings home the fact that your computer friends are REAL people!
Now to find a frame and a good spot for my lovely water lily all the way from Namibia.
Thank you so much Valerie! I will continue to look for your paintings on here with extra special interest!
I hope we will do this again. I would like to think Valery’s painting is the first of a collection of PMP paintings on my wall. (by Rosalind Amorin)
Me and Michelle Bone’s painting, all the way from Australia :) (by George Gallocker )
Yay – Cocky has arrived – I was sitting out in the sun sketching the gates when he arrived so I told my husband to take a picture – here he is straight out of the box! Will post another pic when he’s framed – thank you Bix he’s wonderful!! (by Sharon Whitley)
I was extremely remiss in not telling you all..just how much I enjoyed receiving Roy’s beautiful Swan painting.
It was much more beautiful in the flesh…so to speak. The colours are stunning. It was a very exciting challenge…swapsie really rocks…and I hope we’ll be doing it again.
It’s so nice to have a little piece of Roy and pmp…right here in my home. :) (by Robyn Lovelock)

Julia! . . . and Roy! What an incredibly exciting March Challenge, our ‘Swapsie’ has turned out to be! Thank you, Julia for all the dedication you’ve invested in it’s smooth running . . . I, for one, am truly delighted to see, from your list, that I will have the honour and the greatest pleasure to frame and hang, Dilip’s most delightful watercolour of Linda’s photo ‘Bishop Bay Hot Springs’, on a wall in my home! In return, I will happily package my watercolour of ‘Bodnant Gardens’ Echinacheas’ from Marion Brown’s photo, and post it off to Dilip, in India . . . where, I hope he will enjoy it, just as much . . . as I enjoyed the painting of it.
What a superb outcome for each and every Paint My Photo member, who took part in this very popular, inaugural ‘Swapsie’ of our artwork!
AND, how VERY exciting to see all these amazing entries displayed TOGETHER . . . in your ‘SWAP ART blog . . . Gallery’!
CONGRATULATIONS! Julia and Roy, on an exceptionally EXCELLENT March Challenge . . .’the swapsie one’!
Again, sincere thanks, for this fabulous idea; certainly sounds like SWAP ART is ‘THE PLACE’ for artists ‘to be’!
thanks a lot Barbara! We really appreciate your feedback!
Just a quick word to say thank you Since seeing the challenge I have really got back into my painting again. It really was so well supported I think every one deserves a big pat on the back.
Well done everyone
Pauline
I’m so glad to hear that you started to paint again because of these swaps :) Indeed, sharing is a very beautiful thing :)
I am so thrilled with how this has gone, everyone should be proud of their work. I am so looking forward to getting my swapsies! Thanks for all your hard work on this idea, Jullia. It will be good to hear back and see pictures as the ‘mailman’ makes his rounds!
let’s hope the mailman will not disappointed us, and make a fast deliver :p
What an absolutely brilliant idea Julia and Roy. I’d like to congratulate you both…on the success of our first…and hopefully not last…swapsie month. It’s been such an enterprising and fun month for all the members who entered…I’m sure we all feel the same way about that. It’s so much nicer…when you know you’re working with a purpose.
We…here on PMP…are a friendly group. We’ve come to care for one another…as friends…family of a sort. I for one…love PMP…and to think that I’m going to have a painting belonging to one of my pmp family…hanging on my wall…just makes me smile.
To be honest…it’s a real thrill.
I look forward to the mailman bringing me my first swapsie painting…which I will treasure…and I hope there’ll be many more. Rx
Hello,
Any chance I can join you in April?
This swap was made on paintmyphoto.com just for March. On swap-art.com, when the site will be launched, you will be able to make swaps any time you want and who you want with. You can join our invite mail list, and when we have news about this, we’ll let you know.
I’ll talk with Roy, and maybe we will organize another swap on PMP in the future :)
Great to see all the paintings together in one place. What a selection of beautiful work!!! Thank you both for organising what turned out to be the most popular challenge ever on PMP!!!
